Evolve Customer is an e-commerce app designed for users in Singapore, offering a seamless and personalized shopping experience. My role focused on enhancing the user interface and experience, ensuring the app meets the needs of Singaporean consumers through intuitive design and localized features.

The Problem

Singaporean shoppers face difficulties with complex navigation, limited payment options, and unreliable delivery in existing e-commerce apps. Evolve Customer aims to resolve these issues by providing a streamlined, locally-optimized shopping experience.

The Goal

Create an intuitive e-commerce app that meets the specific needs of Singaporean users by simplifying navigation, offering diverse payment options, and ensuring reliable delivery, ultimately enhancing the overall shopping experience.

User Research

To ensure Evolve Customer effectively addresses the needs of Singaporean shoppers, comprehensive research was conducted. This included market research to understand the competitive landscape, user behaviors, and preferences in the local e-commerce market. This research informed the creation of user personas, which reflect the diverse needs and challenges faced by our target audience.

Based on user persona insights, wireframes were created to visualize the app’s structure and flow. Prioritizing user needs, the designs focused on simplified navigation and clear payment options. These blueprints ensured the app effectively met the diverse requirements of its target audience.

Takeaways & Retrospective

Working on the Evolve Customer project provided valuable insights into designing a localized e-commerce experience. I learned the importance of tailoring user interfaces to specific regional needs, such as integrating local payment methods and optimizing delivery processes. The project emphasized the significance of user-centered design, from conducting thorough research to creating intuitive wireframes and engaging visual designs. Additionally, the experience reinforced the benefits of using design systems like Material 3 for consistency and ease of development. Overall, this project enhanced my skills in creating effective, user-friendly solutions and deepened my understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities within the e-commerce sector.
